In the wee hours of Thursday morning shortly after midnight someone broke the window out of the front door of Argenta Bead and took a small amount of cash from two jars that Argent Bead was using to collect money for local charities. The police did a great job of finding and notifying the owner, Ellie. Way to go guys and gals!!

Eric already did a post on this, but I thought you might enjoy some action shots. This is the truck that caught on fire Thursday in the 400 block of Willow Street. The truck owner was reportedly working on the truck and went to start the truck up when it caught on fire.
I guess the flame decals on the side of the truck were not enough.

I recieved this e-mail today from a regular reader
"Scott, I am sorry to hear of your pulling out of the election, but it is understandable. I am working out of state right now and feel out of the loop on several things. I have really been wanting to get some info from you, regarding Bubba Lloyd. I do not know the man and do not know who to ask, but now that you are back on screen I will ask you the question that I have been wanting to ask YOU. Is this the same guy you were after at the old church in Argenta that was so trashy, and giving the city grief about his rights to do what he wanted with his property?? I will stop the questions there until that is confirmed, but please do so on the blog as I know others are also wanting to know. I do not mean attack him, but just clarify the situation. Thank you"
The answer to the question is ...Yes. Yes this is the same Bubba Lloyd who owns the church that the neighborhood had issues with. The neighborhood took issue with

Yes, I'm back. Eric did a great job and I appreciate what he did here. He will continue to occasionally make posts here as he sees fit and I look forward to his well written and well spelled posts. You will just have to suffer and put up with my bad spelling and grammar and feel free to comment about it all you want. I deserve the critiicism
I lleft posting here, not because of the time, but because I thought it would be unfair to use this site as an indirect outlet for my alderman campaign. It usually takes me less than an hour to make my posts late each night after everyine has gone to bed. This site also helps me with my therapy. So it is either posting here or getting an antidepressant prescription.
This is my first love, and I do enjoy it so!!. So look for posts on all those little details, the announcements, the critiques and the promotions about Argenta.
Here it is folks!!! ALL ARGENTA...ALL THE TIME!!!

With his decision to drop out of the Ward 2 alderman's race -- entering which was the reason he turned the blog over to me -- Scott Miller has decided to take back the reins of Argenta News, which I gladly surrender to him. He'll be blogmeister once again starting tomorrow. See y'all around the 'hood! Be first to comment this article |

Tonight is the monthly Third Friday Art Walk, so get out and support the artists and businesses of Argenta! On the jump is information from Rhonda Reeves about the stuff you'll find at the Baker House this evening; just click "Read More." If you are an artist who will be exhibiting, or a business that will be open, during the Art Walk, let me know and I'll add your information. Be first to comment this article |

Just as I arrived home at 3 p.m. today, I noticed a couple of fire trucks down the street. Upon investigation I discovered they'd been called in to extinguish this Ford Ranger pickup, which had somehow caught fire. They were still trying to sort out how it happened (and politely asked me to step out of the street, lest I scuff up some burn marks that might turn up clues). Nobody was injured in the blaze. How very handy it is to have the main fire station literally in your neighborhood.... Comments (2) |
