There was an apparent daylght break-in of a green Ford SUV parked in the Municipal League parking lot on 2nd Street.  For those not familiar with 2nd Street, this is the short street that runs east west between the Wyndham & the Old Rye Furniture building and dead ends at the ballpark scoreboard.  The driver's seat window appears to heve been broken out.  No report on what, if anything was taken.

Flower Bed Replanting!! PDF Print E-mail

Thanks to the Argenta Downtown Council (ADC), the flower beds along Main Street are in the process or being replanted with beautiful fall color with mums and other stuff,  (I know squat about flowers and plants).  The beds at 4th & Main are maintained by the Master Gardeners in a cooperative aggreement with Main Street Argenta and it does not appear these beds are being redone.

How pretty and make sure you remember this along with the Argenta Ambassadors, Restaurant Week and Argenta Scratch Off Card Restaurant promotions all done through the ADC.

We have new neighbors!!.  The owner of this duplex at 414 West 5th Street has recently finished a massive remodelling and both sides of the duplex have new tenants.  Part of the Ragsdale clan from West 6th Street moved in to the east side of the duplex.  The west side is occupied by Les, the head chef at Ristorants Capeo.  All great people and great neighbors.  Stop by, wave and say hello to our new neighbors.

More info on Natural State Expo PDF Print E-mail

From fellow Argenital Julie McSpadden:

Since you mentioned the Natural State Expo in the blog post with the CityGrove newsletter, I thought I'd send along the expo flyer in case you are inclined to post it as well. (For the event flyer, please click "Read More.")

Along with CityGrove, there are a couple of other Argenta connections:  Patrick Stair and I have been building a cave for The Nature Conservancy's booth in the youth activities section, and we encourage all young Argentans (and old ones, too, for that matter) to come give it a crawl. Foodshed Farm -- that's Barbara Armstrong and Jody Hardin, our illustrious Certified Arkansas Farmers Market founders and honorary Argentans -- will have a booth as well. I'm sure there are more connections I'm not aware of. At any rate, it'll be a fun and educational event for folks interested in environmentally conscious products, services and actions.

Note: There's bike parking available inside the expo hall. It's Race for the Cure day, so biking might be your quickest way over from Argenta.

Community Theater Coming to Argenta PDF Print E-mail

Written by Scott Miller
Sunday, October 05 2008

Community theater is coming to Argenta.  The new theater will be called the Argenta Community Theater (ACT) and will be located in this building at 405 Main Street, next door to the THEA Foundation.

 Sample Image

The force behind this project is North Little Rock resident as well as mover and shaker Vincent Insalaco.  Mr. Insalaco recently produced the film War Eagle. With Mr. Insalaco's resources and contacts in the film industry, the ACT should be on a firm footing.
