At a nice ceremony this morning organized by Main Street Argenta, Mayor Hays started the move of the old bank trailer off the lot on the corner of 7th & Main Streets. The trailer is gone now as shown above. According to the developer, construction is supposed to start by later summer. But remember, in construction deadlines and timetables can change.
But no matter when they start construction, this is about what we will end up as shown on this the artist rendering of the east side of the 600 block of Main Street. Retail on the 1st floor with a new restaurant and residential on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Then on the corner at the trolley stop there will be brand new Twin City Bank branch.

The NLR Chamber of Commerce is printing a new fold out NLR city street map for visitors to our City. There will be over 10,000 copies of this map printed. This will be the first time this map has been done in four years. Many of our Argenta businesses were not even down here four years ago.
You can buy an ad on this map and have your business listed on the map. You can also have your business location shown on the map. One catch though, you MUST be a NLR Chamber member to buy an ad. We have purchased an ad for the Baker House B&B.
If you are interested in purchasing an ad on the map, you can call Richard Stone with Community Link (the firm the NLR Chamber has contracted to print the map) at 800-455-5600 ext. 2032 or you can call the NLR Chamber at 372-5959

This photo may not look like much, but it is the first step in improving the alley betwen Main & Maple Streets from Broadway up to 7th or 8th Street. This will include burying utilities, improving drainage, more pedestrian friendly and hopefully less dumpsters.
Oh yea, the photo is surveying marker set in the ground used by surveyors and engineers to help propare existing condition and proposed construction drawings.
