In what has essentially been infighting between the Walter Hussman and Stephens interests in downtown LR. along the Central Arkansas Library thronw in as well, it looks like one of the most sought after hotel chains in the entire nation, ALoft Hotel may ba abandoning LR for Argenta according to the AR Times Blog . It’s about time!!,  When will those guys in dowtown LR learn?  Get a plan, get united and work together.  While the Rivermarket degrades into a club atmosphere, the retail and finer restaurants get pushed out.  No plan, no coordination, isn’t this how LR lost the ballpark on their side of the river? Great neighborhoods are defined by a sense of place.  But what is that sense of place?  We know it when we see it.  When we see the vibrant stores and restaurants with pedestrians strolling along the sidewalks.  It is somewhere we enjoy and want to be.  Somwhere where we are comfortable, safe and not overwhelmed by traffic, large parking lots or tall buildings. However you define it, Argenta seems to have that sense of place.  There is much more to be done and we have to make sure we stay true to what brought us here, local businesses, committment to historic preservation and pedestrian friendly environments. Sometimes I even forget how special a place Argenta is.  Then I see or hear about somthing or someone doing something special that just makes me glow. This is one of those stories.Early today, I recieved this e-mail form Lynda at Galaxy, which I shortened slightly. Just the Facts:  A couple enters the Galaxy, makes a retro purchase from the “Atomic Shop”.
