If you want the Historic District expanded it is time to get off your collective asses and do something. There IS oppostion to the expansion primarily from only one or two commercial property owners on 4th Street. They have been contacting our City Council representatives and urging them to vote against the expansion and thier voice has been the only voice heard so far. IF YOU DO NOTHING WE WILL NOT GET THE EXPANSION PASSED!!
What can we do?
1. E-mail and call the Mayor and City Council representatives and tell them to vote yes on the expansion (see contact information on the page link to the right of this post)
2. Come to the public hearing with the City Council Monday night January 8th at 7:00 pm. You do not have to speak, we need to show how many people support the expansion.
I will be there and both my wife and I have contacted ALL the aldermen and mayor. REMEMBER, IF YOU DO NOT CALL OR E-MAIL AND DON’T SHOW UP MONDAY NIGHT THE EXPANSION WILL DIE!!
Rest assured the opposition will be there.
