Former Booster President Simmons Dies

January 8, 2007

This past weekend Joe Simmons died.  Joe was the Argenta Neighborhood Boosters President during the late 1990’s through 2004.  Joe was the glue that held this neighborhood association together when there wasn’t much interest in the Boosters. Joe also served on the NLR Civil Service Commission.  Joe lived on at the corner of 7th & Orange Streets and for many years operated his concrete cutting business from the property next door. Although Lou Gehrig’s disease slowed Joe the last few years, Joe could still be seen walking the neighborhood everyday. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday night January 9th at the North Little Rock Funeral Home at 1921 Main Street.  A Burial Mass will be…
