Many of the Argenta restaurants will be closed today for the 4th of July. This includes Starving Artist Cafe, Ristorante Capeo and Cornerstone. Cregreens will be open to satisfy your food and beer cravings!!
Written by nlrkid, on 04-07-2009 14:22 Is the food any better at this place these days? I made the mistake of referring out of town friends to Creegen's once. Never again. I was embarrassed by the quality of the food and the service. Both were absolutely horrible. So, what do you say Argentitals? Don't just blindly defend it solely because it's in Argenta. Contrary to the normal cheerleading on here, things aren't as rosy as you might think down there. Lots of still empty store fronts that look very tacky to me when I'm slinking through your area. Ok, tear me up SD. |
Written by brent, on 05-07-2009 11:38 I recommend Reno's to friends. The food always tastes great and service is fast. However, we need a restaurant that is family friendly (non-snmoking)and resonably priced that has a real kitchen. There's not even one on Main Street. |
Hello Brent Written by FLavaMalo, on 05-07-2009 12:13 Starving Artist??!! It's the best inexpensive place on Main street. Kudos to nlrkid!! Everyone is talking about how bad Creegans has become. The only thing worse is that their owners/management have turned a deaf ear to their customers. Don't worry though, if this continues Creegans will have new owners within the year. |
Written by nlrkid, on 05-07-2009 15:45 I do think Reno's is the best little place on the Main St. strip. Cough Cough, that is if you can handle the carbon monoxide spewing from the whiskey talking women at the table next to you. Starving Artist? It's pretty good, but if you're a blue collar punch a timeclock kind of guy/gal, fuggetaboutit, because they are very slow. It seems the cook is a little quirky and sort of works on his own time schedule, at least that's how it appears. Cornerstone? It's a bar. That little joint that's been several things and had their tables swiped from out front? It's not really a restaurant. I defy you to find a good breakfast place on the strip. You can zig zag over to the Wyndham if you have a pocketful of money and don't mind eggs and limp bacon from a steam table. Creegen's had lots of potential when I first started hearing about it, but the reality of it is, it sucks. |
River Market Written by skirby, on 05-07-2009 22:28 Some of the news reports tonight said that restaurants in the River Market did very good business on the 4th. Main St. does not have any establishments that focus on families, at least where kids feel welcome. A pizza place along the lines of U.S. Pizza should do well. |
Written by Beatleclark, on 06-07-2009 10:13 I have had it with smoke. Is there a plan to strengthen the smoking laws of Arkansas? It has been proven in other states that an outright ban on smoking inside public places does not hurt business. Having the wishy washy current law seems to hurt business. |
"family friendly" Written by fridaymom, on 06-07-2009 18:40 Just remember, there are plenty of us folks out here that ENJOY going to restaurants that are not 'family friendly'. We remember the good old days - back before the universe had to revolve around children - back when people didn't have to take their children EVERYWHERE with them. North Little Rock already has 3 US Pizzas - is that not enough??? |
