Scott Miller has announced today that he is withdrawing from the Ward 2 alderman's race. You can read his e-mail on the jump; just click "Read More."
It is with great sadness and regret that I must inform you that I have to withdraw my candidacy for the North Little Rock Ward 2 Alderman. This decision is based upon very recent changes in the medical status of a close family member which will require a significant investment of my time for the next several months. I deeply regret this decision and I have appreciated your support and encouragement in this race. I dearly love Argenta, Ward 2 and the City of North Little Rock and this decision has been excruciatingly difficult for me and my family. I will be returning all campaign contributions and I will continue to strive to find ways I can serve Argenta, Ward 2 and the City of North Little Rock. I would hope you would consider supporting Maurice Taylor for the Ward 2 Alderman in the November ballot. Maurice's experience as a Planning Commissioner will be of great value to Ward 2.
Written by mooncat, on 17-09-2008 13:48 Scott I am so sorry to hear you are withdrawing from the city council race, but even more regretful of your family illness. Wish you and yours the best. I am sure you will still stay as active as possible in the local going-ons. At least we hope so. |

So long and thanks for all the fish. Written by Rick, on 17-09-2008 16:05 Scott, I understand the reasons for your withdrawal, but remember the words of Dylan Thomas, "Do not go gentle into that good night". Continue to fight for what you know is right. We are all pulling for you. |
Written by One Who Cares, on 17-09-2008 21:58 Scott, I am so very sorry, about the problems, you are facing. Just know we are here for you and Sonja. We are praying for all of you. You are a good guy and there will be other things you can do for our ward. God, be with you and yours. |
Scott.... Written by mlm202, on 18-09-2008 11:49 Dear Scott, I am sorry to hear about your family member. I am sure this decision to drop out was not an easy one for you. You are a very active member of this community and hope you will still have the time to be so. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. Sincerely, Michael Monnikendam |
