The Argenta NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center will present “Keeping and Maintaining Your American Dream,” a free post-purchase class from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at the Cox Creative Center, 120 Commerce in Little Rock. The class is designed to teach homeowners, especially new owners, the fundamentals of home maintenance with demonstrations, interior design on a budget, disaster planning, financial education, foreclosure prevention and community building. The American Red Cross will provide information on emergency and disaster planning. Tracy Rivers, owner of Angelfish Studios of Little Rock and a featured designer on an upcoming edition of Extreme Home Makeover, will provide interior design tips on a budget. Arvest Bank Mortgage will discuss foreclosure prevention and refinancing. Home Depot will offer a quick workshop on an aspect of home maintenance and give away prizes. Machelle Steward-Brown, a North Little Rock community advocate for the Baring Cross Neighborhood will highlight the importance of community involvement and how it provides neighborhood stabilization. And finally the Argenta HomeOwnership center staff will give an overview on budgeting and savings for homeowners. Participants will receive a manual. Lunch will be served.
