Melrose Circle resident Amy asked me to post this question to the blog to gather feedback. "Do you think people would be interested in having a community compost site? I was wondering if the people from the community garden would be interested in running it and then using the compost for the garden. I always have fruit peels and coffee grounds and such but don't want to hassle with a compost myself. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a drop off site near the community garden where we could get rid of our food waste? Just an idea (and seeing as I have no interest in actually running it, I'm sure most other people won't either, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway)." BTW, I'm working on finding answers to your other questions, Amy....
Composting YES Written by MRargenta, on 22-08-2008 20:06 This is Monty Richard with the Argenta Community Garden. A compost pile is part of our plan for the garden, and we hope to have it up and running this fall. Keep an eye on this web site and the monthly mailings from Boosters for announcements about the garden. We are in the planning phase for our first full year of community gardening (2009), and we need input from residents. Please send your ideas to the Argenta News web site, or contact the garden committee at

Someone needs to compost this website!!! Written by Indian, on 24-08-2008 21:01 Jeez, I am bored with the new and improved website...I have checked it daily and nothing :( What's up? I must be a dumbass...I was going to report that the submarine has been stolen from the River but I can't figure out how to get it done. Please, Please, give us back our old website that we loved to check daily! |
A little out of line!!! Written by Indian, on 25-08-2008 08:11 Sorry about my last posting. Last night I was hoping for a little of the fun infighting posts that come along every now and again. Anyway, a glass of wine too many made me post a message that isn't entirely true. First of all I like the website...I check it daily and the second thing is, The Razorback is still safe and sound in the river. Keep up the good work! |
