Saw the Arkansas Bar Association's biennial Gridiron Show tonight and really enjoyed it -- especially when they poked fun at Argenta.

Using the premise of a gathering at the Governor's Mansion, the motley assortment of guests included the Cult of Argenitals who, when called forward by First Lady Ginger Beebe, declared their intetion to (among other things) relocate the Eiffel Tower to the riverfront. Miz Beebe sent the cultists off to the guest house to hold their secret meeting.

And later in the show, when Satan shows up, an aide asks the First Lady if the Prince of Darkness should be directed to the guest house, as well

"Oh, no!" says Miz Beebe. "We can't let him near Argenitals!"

Probably the best groaner of the night....

For those who're interested in spot-on local political satire and have the money (our mezzanine tickets were $35 bucks a pop), the show runs one more time, Saturday night, at The Rep.
