Humane Society needs dog items

This isn't really an Argenta item, but: On the jump is an e-mail forwarded from a friend; the Humane Soceity of Pulaski County busted a puppy mill in Saline County and has a lot of dogs they're not only trying to find homes for, but need to care for in the meantime. See the jump for a list of what they need and whom to contact. Just a reminder that one of our yearly charities is the Pulaski County Humane Society and our wonderful Ann makes periodic trips to them to deliver misc items that we collect. I'm sure most of you have heard of the 85 animals that were rescued from the puppy mill. Below is a list of some items they are in desperate need of. The items are still being put in the cubicle by Sherry Woods.

In regards to HSPC's puppy mill intervention in Saline County. The rescued dogs are still in poor condition, with little fur, and must be kept warm. And, with 85 new animals in an already-full shelter, in Kay Simpson's words, the HSPC is slammed.

We need the following items for these dogs:

Dog T-shirts & sweaters (can be previously used)

Infant to toddler T-shirts (can be previously used)

High-quality, small-bites dog food (prefer Science Diet or Purina)

Collars and leashes

Bedding

Small stainless steel bowls - no plastic or ceramic

Grooming supplies

These dogs all need to be examined and evaluated by the vet, and treated for various problems, before they will be ready for foster and/or adoption.

Please Help Them

The Humane Society is a wonderful organization. Please help them if you can. They are the only "no-kill" shelter in the area, and the only local animal rescue organization with a certified animal cruelty investigator on staff. Their only source of funding is through in-kind and monetary donations. They need as much help as they can get!

I don't know if anyone saw but there was another raid in Hull, AR the other night and the Humane Society is in desperate need. I have called the Petsmart off of McCain and they are willing to drop off any donations they receive. The most important things they need are flea and tick meds. Also, newspaper is another biggie, so if anyone recycles like I do please take your newspapers either to the Humane Society or the Petsmart.There is a wishlist at warmhearts.org for more info. Please help them, they need us.

River Market ArtSpace in Little Rock is accepting donations on behalf of the HSPC as well. The owner is on their board of directors.
