Garver Engineers is moving to NLR and building thier new corporate office in the Northshore Business Park near the intersection of Crystal Hill Hill Road.  Garvver will bring thier current 240 employes to NLR and then hire an additional 120 people at an average salary of $65,000.  According to the press over 90% of the Garver employees take advantage of their fitness programs.

The Northshore Business Park is located on a branch of the River Trail.  With employees that are very health conscious and gas at $4.00 a gallon, living where you can bike to work can be very attractive.  This means people looking to buy houses along the River Trail.  This will create more demand for houses  in Argenta, Sherman Park, Baring Cross and Rockwater Village.  Good news and rising property values for all.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Maumelle will see the benefits before Argenta does. Argenta doesn't have A) schools B) grocery store C) Churches (plural) D) Maumelle is closer than Argenta (driving wise)

You may get one or two engineers though.
Don't need more engineers

We don't have enough train locomotives in Argenta for the one we have!! (Scott)

I welcome them to Argenta and hope they consider working with CAT to come up with a REAL public transportation plan. Little Rock/North Little Rock and Arkansas in general is ill prepared for the future if we don't invest more of our time/efforts/money into creating a realistic, sustainable public transportation plan.
Why?...

For the life of me I can't understand why the cities of LR and NLR didn't consider the captive audience they have in Downtown LR that live and work there every day. They have to eat lunch every day some have to work late and have dinner also, shop, do every day things like paying bills etc Why not put an artery of the Trolley downtown through the business district by Met tower, city hall, the court house, Peabody, Capitol Hotel, Doubletree, etc? If you do that one little 1/2 mile loop the trolley wouldn't be for show or the tourist. It would be used every day by the working people who want to come to Argenta to eat lunch or shop on Main. Instead the people in downtown LR eat at some joint that is within walking distance of the office. Narrow minded? IDK What do you think?

I'm a little confused by that last post...

Few residents actually use the trolly as a means of daily transportation because it runs so slowly. It almost always takes about 10 to 15 minutes to catch one and by the time it gets across the river you could have walked faster.
