How is your neighbor supposed to walk down the street with this crap on the sidewalk? Yard waste pick up day is Wednesday so this will be blocking the sidewalk at 513 Willow Street for at least two more days. If someone piled this up in front of this resident's front door so they couldn't get on their front porch, do you think they would be upset? Sure they would! It is too bad more people can't ask "How would I feel if my neighbor did this to me?" But then again, consideration is probably not a strong point for people who chain a motorcycle to a tree in the front yard with an anchor chain, when they have an alley behind their house with an entire backyard to park in.
If not now, When? Written by Whos On First, on 23-07-2007 10:26 I don't think neighbors need to wait till 6PM Tuesday night to clean up their yards and stack it on the curb. Argenta would be FULL of yard waste if that was the rule! I agree that yard waste and debris for Wednesday pick up should be stacked between the walk and curb along the frontage of the home to allow neighbors to pass. However, it is a small thing that eventually goes away and does not warrant the "Wrath of Blog!!!" |
I agree; Written by Mr. Anthropy, on 23-07-2007 11:44 At least it means the yard / trees / shrubs are being maintained. I would rather see it piled on the curb to be hauled away, than still growing in the yard / on the house, etc. Big yard jobs that generate big yard waste often can only be tended to on weekends. It would be great if yard waste day was on Monday, but that is not the case. Blocking the sidewalks is unnecessary, tho. |
Written by Argenitals, on 23-07-2007 15:56 Isn't it illegal to park cars/motorcycles in your front yard here? I'm sick of seeing things like this--it makes us look like a white trash neighborhood. |
Wrath on! Written by bobthepainter, on 23-07-2007 16:00 I know it is only a matter of time until the Wrath Hatchet falls on me. I always have butterflies and a little twinge of fear that when the blog site opens, there will be a picture and story in the blog about "the fire in my life on the evening news". However it's a good Question: "...how would I feel...?" Maybe in this case the folks could have parked their pile in the yard by the sidewalk until Tuesday morning. |
Written by Argenitals, on 23-07-2007 16:03 Speaking of not being able to walk down the sidewalk, how about that truck who always parks in the middle of the sidewalk on 5th street? I can't remember the address, but it's the block that's between Willow and Broadway. |
