Local Throws Out 1st Pitch at Trav Game Saturday PDF Print E-mail

Local Argenta resident Austin Clement threw out the ceremonial 1st pitch Saturday night at the Traveler ballgame.  Austin lives on 5th Street with his parents, Gary & Ann Clements.  If I had brought my camera, I would have a picture posted here.  Gary Clement otherwise known as the "Honorary Mayor of Argenta" also owns an architecture firm on Main Street and is President of the Argenta Historic District Commission.  All I want to know is......Who did Ann & Gary bribe to get their kid selected?  I want to match that bribe so my 10 yr old can throw out the 1st pitch! Smile

On this day of sadness for the players and all associated, there is still happiness. We are mighty proud of our son and his pitch in front of a soldout stadium. Austin is a Webelo scout. One of the den leaders works for CWArkansas, the new tv station and also one of the sponsors for Saturday night\\\'s game. Apparently, sponsors get to choose who throws in the first pitch. CWArkansas offered the first pitch to his scout pack. Austin was selected by a random drawing from those scouts who RSVP\\\'d. He found out Friday morning.

He was so tense, I mean I would have been if I were him. Actually, I was tense anyway. We practiced pitching the ball over and over and over. He looked so stunning in his scout uniform. It certainly was his \\\"day\\\".

So Scott, it sounds like you need to enroll your daughter in the girl scouts. Thanks for the mention in this blog (by the way, this is the second time I have read your blog; but was alerted to this article). Keep up the good \\\"family oriented\\\" journalism.

Scott, were you going to post anything about the Coach who was killed by a foul ball?

Argenitals,

No. It think this was adequately covered in the media and I wasn't there so I have nothing to add. This was just so sad! If I find out information about a memorial fund I will psot that.
