Turnaround

My love and I got our turnaround in Argenta. We both grew up in West Little Rock, blinded by culteral prejudice against NLR. Everyday we see things that make us appreciate our great Argenta neighborhood more. I don't think turnaround comes from government initiated formulas. Maybe since we are in the neighborhood of the city government we can more easily see the government operation. I feel a great deal more trust and faith in the government in North Little Rock, unlike L.R. One can get the feeling that in L.R. no matter the governing entity, whether the school board or the city government, whatever they are doing, is shot through with graft and corruption. I am fairly sure I am a little paranoid. But in North Little Rock, I feel as though I can trust the process to work for the general good of the population and so, go along even if I may disagree.
After seeing "Sicko", I have wondered, that given all the taxes we pay out of income that was already taxed, how much of every dollar I earn do I actually pay in taxes? I have more trust with the North Little Rock government and none towards anything done in Little Rock. North Little Rock, under the Mayor's leader ship does an outstanding job of informing and overseeing the city's business. I believe the Mayor and Councilpersons take public trust very seriously. That is my turnaround. |
