Main Street Argenta Meeting Tuesday

Main Street Argenta (MSA) will hold their regular monthly board meeting on Tuesday night at 5:15 pm. The meeting will be held in the second floor conference room of the NLR Electric Dept. at 800 North Main Street. But I could not find a link to the Agenda. I would like to participate in the group and do some volunteer work downtown, (the art is kind of good) however, I've learned to check things out before jumping in. Any advice on how I can get to know these folks before committing to help them?

I recognized MSA does not always keep people informed so I requested a copy of the MSA agenda be sent directly to me so I can post it here. Other groups do this. I received the following e-amil response from the Executive Director of MSA on 07/03/07

“The last item on the agenda was a request by Scott Miller that Main Street Argenta provide his blog page with upcoming agendas and other notices of Main Street Argenta business meetings. After a discussion a motion was made by Becky Height and seconded Wayne Hogan, that meeting agendas and minutes would continue to be posted on the Main Street Argenta web site since the information is currently available to the public and the process of informing the public does not need to be changed. Mr. Miller was to be encouraged to direct citizens to the Main Street Argenta web site for this information. The motion was unanimously approved by vote of the Directors present.”

A weeks notice and a specific request to post the agenda and still not done....draw your own conclusions.

If you want to get to know MSA I suggest you call the Executive Director and volunteer.

I'll do more research and draw my own conclusions. The ability to deal positively with the public is on my list of "must have" criteria. The public art gave me hope.
Is there a Merchant's Association? Do they limit membership to just merchants? Maybe I can offer my marketing expertise to them.

Yes there is merchants association reforming right now after a several year hiatus under the wing of Main Street Argenta. The guy re-organizing the merchants association is Brian. He can be reached at Kharma Consulting. Click on their link to the right for Brian's phone number and adress

I linked over to MSAs website & correct me if I'm wrong, but am I not supposed to be able to click the date for the agenda I want to view AND ACTUALLY SEE THE AGENDA?!

This is what MSAs site says for Agendaa..."You will need the free Acrobat Reader program to view the agendas." Well, their link to the agenda has to work, too! I guess I have to call the ED of MSA and get it emailed to me.
